Gov. DeSantis makes nominations for Jacksonville Transportation Authority board

Of the governor’s four selections, only Max Glober will return to a role on the board if approved by the Florida Senate.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nominated three individuals for appointment and one for reappointment to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority board of directors Jan. 30. 

DeSantis nominated Alan Hopkins, Madelen Salter and Daniel Vallencourt for first-time appointments, and Max Glober, the board’s secretary, for reappointment.

The JTA board is made up of seven seats. Four are appointed by the governor with confirmation by the Florida Senate, and three are appointed by Jacksonville’s mayor with confirmation by City Council.

• Hopkins is a consultant at Hopkins Consulting Florida and the chief economic strategist for Manchester Financial. He served on the Era Aviation board of directors and the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura board of directors. 

• Salter is market president for Office Images. She serves as the chair of the JAXUSA Partnership Business Development Committee and as a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Leadership Jacksonville board of directors.

• Vallencourt is vice president of Vallencourt Construction Co. Inc., and the owner of Clay Theatre Events LLC. He is a member of the Clay County Development Authority. 

• Glober is vice president of marketing at First Coast Energy LLP. He has served as a member of the Jacksonville Historical Preservation Commission and was first appointed to the JTA board by DeSantis in 2025.

Terms on the JTA board are four years.
