The Pickle Factory, a Jacksonville-based retailer that specializes in fermented foods, plans a March 6 opening of its St. Augustine location.

The St. Augustine store is at 239 San Marco Ave. off U.S. 1 in space previously occupied by apparel store AndersonOrd, which relocated April 12 to 260 Thomas Industry Way.

It will be The Pickle Factory’s second store and its first in St. Johns County.

The first store opened at 5913 St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville. The company’s headquarters and warehouse is at 7720 Phillips Highway.

The Pickle Factory is part of Olive My Pickle, a direct-to-consumer company founded in 2010 by Shai and Charlotte Tzabari that makes, packages and ships such products as brine, sauerkraut, kimchi, olives, pickled vegetables and hot sauces in addition to pickles.

Charlotte Tzabari said in a news release that the new space is designed as a gathering place.

“St. Augustine has such a vibrant spirit and sense of connection, and we’ve designed this space to be more than just a store — it’s a place for people to gather, discover something new and share a little joy around food and fun,” she said.
