University of North Florida’s board of trustees has established a search committee to identify the university’s next president.

“UNF has experienced extraordinary positive momentum in recent years, and few decisions are more consequential to the University than the selection of its next President to continue advancing its mission to educate students, conduct impactful research and support the needs of the Northeast Florida community,” trustees Chair Steve Moore said in a March 23 news release.

Members of the UNF Presidential Search Committee are:

  • Jack Boyle, chair, UNF trustee and retired president of North America and Buying for Fanatics.
  • James Beasley, president of the UNF faculty association.
  • Mike Binder, assistant vice president of UNF faculty relations and former president of the UNF faculty association.
  • Rob Bradley, partner, Bradley & Komando.
  • Dwight Cooper, UNF Foundation board chair; founder and former CEO of Hueman People Solutions.
  • Jay Demetree, UNF trustee and president and CEO of Demetree Brothers, Inc.
  • Amelia Dyal, UNF student government president.
  • Aubrey Edge, Florida Board of Governors member and president and CEO of First Coast Energy LLP.
  • John Gol, UNF trustee, UNF Finance Corp. member and chief financial officer of Georgia Emergency Department Services.
  • M. Scott Thomas, partner at Burr & Forman.
  • Aundra Wallace, JAXUSA Partnership president.

UNF trustees selected Angela Garcia Falconetti to be interim president in February after Moez Limayem, president of the university for more than three years, became president of the University of South Florida.

When appointed, Falconetti notified the board she did not wish to be considered for the permanent post.
