The annual Canan Law St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser for St. Johns County Legal Aid was a success again this year.

The event raised more than $8,000 for civil legal aid and featured Bedell Firm Director Hank Coxe delivering the annual tribute to the late 7th Circuit Judge Richard Watson, for whom the St. Johns County justice center, formerly the courthouse, is named.

Festivities included Irish music, food prepared by chef Ned Pollack, who owned the Gypsy Cab Co. and Ned’s, and beer donated by Dog Rose Brewing Co. in St. Augustine.

“We cannot express how grateful we are to the Canan Firm for all they do to bring attention and support, personally and financially, to the cause of legal aid and the mission of equal justice,” said Megan Wall, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid St. Johns County managing attorney.
