• Jacksonville Human Rights Commission Chair Edward Johnson had made his case for keeping the Commission. In a letter to City Council President Richard Clark — who has suggested that all City boards and commissions need to be examined in-depth — Johnson says the HRC is responsible for helping the City secure $28 million in Community Development Block Grant funds and another $30 million in Equal Employment Opportunity funds, which are overseen by the federal government.
