Attorneys invited to Veterans Treatment Court lunch-and-learn

The Jacksonville Bar Association Veteran and Military Affairs Committee presents a lunch-and-learn focused on helping military veterans at noon Sept. 20 at the association’s office at Wells Fargo Center.

Duval County Judge Mose Floyd will explain the 4th Judicial Circuit’s Veterans Treatment Court, a nationally recognized diversion program.

Topics will include an overview of the program in Clay, Duval and Nassau counties as well as challenges facing veterans in Northeast Florida.

Also related to veterans, the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association scheduled its annual Veterans Day luncheon and meeting at noon Nov. 9 in the jury assembly room at the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse.

Keynote speakers are Chief Judge Margaret Bartley and Judge Michael Allen from the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
