Richard “Dick” Browdy has been named Builder Member of the Year by the Northeast Florida Builders Association. Jonny Moore was named the Fred King Associate Member of the Year. Bill Wilson received the “Bill” Soforenko Affordable Housing Award and the NEFBA Leadership Award went to Tray Parker.

The honors were handed out during NEFBA’s 58th Installation and Awards Banquet at the Marriott Southpoint.

Browdy, who joined the association in 1977, served as president in 1985 and was founding chairman of the NEFBA Charitable Foundation. Browdy is president of Browdy & Browdy, Inc., a firm that builds small office centers and upscale homes, is very familiar with the problems of the homeless and providing affordable housing.

Moore began as an electrical apprentice in the NEFBA training program, eventually started his own firm and serve on the NEFBA executive committee as training vice president.

Moore has begun his third stint as NEFBA training vice president last year. Wilson launched NEFBA’s Builders Care last October. Builders Care makes needed repairs to severally damaged houses owned by the elderly and disadvantaged in Duval County. Builders Care is financed by the Duval County Housing Finance Authority. Wilson had his own company, Wilson Construction, for 15 years.

Parker is the president of the NEFBA Student Chapter at the University of North Florida.

He’ll be part of a UNF team facing nationwide competition in construction management skills at the National Association of Home Builders International Show in Atlanta. He’s also been instrumental in the rebirth of the NEFBA Chapter, now 55 members strong.
