The Frisch Family Welcome Center at Jacksonville University opened April 18.

The $4.5 million, 11,750-square-foot center is named in honor of four generations of the Frisch family. Their Beaver Street Foundation is a supporter of JU.

Record airport traffic: March was the busiest month in the history of Jacksonville International Airport. The record 664,479 passengers capped 18 months of year-over-year growth at JIA, starting in October 2017. March had 99 more flights and 18,002 more available seats per week than the month a year ago.

Park to open: The new 75-acre Bogey Creek Preserve Park in Northeast Jacksonville will open  May 4. The park is at 6141 Cedar Point Road near Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park and the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. Bogey Creek is the first for the North Florida Land Trust. The park, features maritime hammock forest, mixed pine-oak forest and seep-fed cypress swamp. It protects almost a mile of marshfront on Clapboard and Bogey creeks. The park will be open daily from sunrise to sunset.
