The city of Jacksonville is reviewing an application to rezone the 42.8-acre CrossRoad United Methodist Church Inc. property at 10005 Gate Parkway N. to add a school and town houses.

The property is west of the Mirabella Condominiums along the north side of Gate Parkway and across from the Florida Blue campus, west of the St. Johns Town Center.

Rezoning would revise the existing 1998 planned unit development for a church and day care to a PUD allowing the existing church use to remain on the southern 15.23 acres fronting Gate Parkway, add a school use on the middle 6.26 acres and 149 town houses on the northern 21.31 acres.

Access to the school and town houses is proposed from Shiloh Mill Road to the east and from within the church parcel.

The majority of town houses shown on the conceptual plan are along the western side of the property opposite of the Old Mill Branch subdivision.

The request includes an alternative use of a reclaimed water treatment facility on all or a part of the school and town house areas.

The applicant for the project is the CrossRoad United Methodist Church Inc. as property owner and Seminole Educational Services LLC as the developer.
