Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order the afternoon of March 20 directing all restaurants to cease on-premise food and alcohol consumption.

Restaurants can operate their kitchens for delivery and takeout services.

The executive order also allows restaurants to include alcohol with pickup and delivery orders with the customer’s proof of ID.

The order also requires gyms and fitness centers to close statewide.

Additionally, it allows for licensed alcoholic beverage vendors to request a return of undamaged alcoholic beverages that were purchased for events canceled because of COVID-19.

The order will be in effect until Florida is no longer in a state of emergency. A state of emergency lasts 60 days unless renewed by the governor.
