Fetch, a package delivery service for apartment residents, is growing in Jacksonville.

The city issued a permit Nov. 3 for Lighthouse Construction of North Florida LLC to build-out 7,600 square feet for the Austin, Texas-based service at 7658 Philips Highway.

Lighthouse will renovate the space, in unit 100 at Phillips Distribution Center, at a cost of $83,825.

Fetch Package Inc. accepts and stores packages from any carrier at its facility for delivery to apartment residents.

Fetch, founded in 2016, has grown to at least 15 locations, its website shows. That company said in a Sept. 30 blog post it launched operations in Jacksonville. It also offers service in Tampa and Orlando.

Fetch posted a job for a warehouse team lead in Jacksonville.

It says it seeks a logistics operations supervisor.

“The Fetch Operations Team is the driving force of our strategy to bring apartment residents secure and convenient package delivery. We are looking for a logistics leader with a passion for process, organizational excellence, and the ability to lead a team in providing superior customer experiences,” it says.

The leader oversees the package fulfillment process and leads a team of associates to ensure delivery service to residents.

Fetch says it offers a competitive salary and commission structure, fully paid medical benefits and stock options.

The company says it is an off-site package delivery service designed specifically for multifamily communities.

“We’re proud to help property managers eliminate package management and give residents a convenient delivery solution,” it says.

“We receive packages from any carrier at our fetch facilities, and then we deliver them to residents at the time of their choosing.”

Fetch said that after registering with it, a customer will receive a fetch shipping address and code. The code tells fetch the customer’s location and unit.

When a package arrives, fetch notifies the customer, who chooses a delivery time frame.

Fetch said its facilities are open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekends. For deliveries, it has windows up to 11 p.m. weekdays and 6 p.m. weekends.

It says it is open half-days Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Fetch says that it “removes the package burden from property managers.”

“Fetch handles 100% of package deliveries directly to the resident’s door,” it says.

Fetch founder and CEO Michael Patton says he moved to a Dallas apartment building in 2015 “and quickly had a few packages lost in the shuffle of the onsite package room.”

“With e-commerce growing at 20% every year, I thought, do buildings really want to dedicate the required space and resources to continue doing this themselves for years to come? No. There’s no way.”

Patton came up with a way to redirect resident packages to a local warehouse and offer door-to-door delivery to residents on their schedule.

He said that resolves the problem for property managers, removing them from the package business.

Fetch says it delivers more than 20,000 packages, on average, daily to residents of more than 300 apartment communities.

Its website is fetchpackage.com.
