E-commerce delivery company LaserShip appears to be considering a center in EastPark at Town Center.

Vienna, Virginia-based LaserShip applied July 25 for a certificate of use for the 85,259-square-foot building at 11902 Central Parkway.

The use is for small parcel delivery.

It has been leasing about 19,000 square feet of space at 9446 Philips Highway, Unit 1, in the Interstate South Commerce Center since June 2019, according to building permits.

LaserShip has not responded to phone calls to corporate numbers or to a number at the Philips Highway address.

LaserShip posted a Jacksonville job for a package handler/sorter. It pays $14.50 an hour for a 2-8 a.m. shift Sunday-Thursday and Monday-Friday.

The job posting says LaserShip has about 60 offices in 20 states.

LaserShip, founded in 1986, says it is the largest regional e-commerce parcel carrier in the U.S. and a leader in e-commerce last-mile delivery.

“For over three decades, we’ve been the leading provider of last-mile delivery services for the nation’s largest online retailers and product supply businesses,” it says in job postings.

IEM Power Systems, which previously leased the EastPark facility, moved to a larger location in NorthPoint Industrial Park.

Cushman & Wakefield Managing Directors Tyler Newman and Jacob Horsley represent landlord Hartz Mountain Industries Inc. in leasing the IEM building. They had no comment.

Hartz paid $4.7 million for the property Aug. 10, 2021.

IEM had occupied the Central Parkway structure since 2011.

The stand-alone building was developed in 1997 in EastPark.

EastPark is at southeast Beach Boulevard and Interstate 295/St. Johns Bluff Road.

On Oct. 22, 2021, LaserShip announced Mark Holifield was appointed CEO as of Nov. 8.

He came from The Home Depot, where he was executive vice president of supply chain and product development.

Will Manuel, board chair of LaserShip, said Holifield’s experience would “enable our successful combination with OnTrac as we look to merge the companies’ networks to provide expanded customer service in 2022.”

“We are confident that the combined LaserShip/OnTrac network will continue to grow and prosper under Mark’s leadership,” Manuel said.

In October, LaserShip and OnTrac announced they will combine to form the first coast-to-coast partnership for last-mile e-commerce deliveries.

LaserShip and OnTrac planned to begin linking their networks in 2022.
