Mattamy Homes has begun construction of two new model homes at Beacon Lake, a new community in St. Johns County on County Road 210.

The builder’s Tradewind model comprises 2,710 square feet with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, formal dining room, flex space, loft and den.

The Cannon II plan is 2,730 square feet with four bedrooms and a study, 3.5 bathrooms and a three-car garage.

The model homes will open in 2018. Mattamy will build homes from 1,760 square feet to more than 3,500 square feet, priced from the high $200,000s.

“We anticipate high demand for our home designs at Beacon Lake as the community offers a wonderful environment for families to live, play, grow and create lasting memories together,” said Mattamy Homes Jacksonville Division President Cliff Nelson.

Mattamy and Dream Finders Homes are building in the 302-home first phase of the community. Each is building 151 homes.

The master-planned community will include 1,280 single-family homes and 196 townhomes on about 630 acres, more than half of which is dedicated wetland preservation, enhancements and restoration areas.

The developer is BBX Capital Real Estate, a division of BBX Capital Corp.

The centerpiece of the community is a paddle-friendly, 43-acre lake and community clubhouse with entertainment and dining areas inside as well as covered porches, all overlooking Beacon Lake.

The Crew House will provide kayak, canoe and paddleboard storage and a launch area.

Amenities include a lap pool, splash park and fun pool, tennis courts and play fields.

The fitness center will offer cardio and strength training areas including aerobics, spinning, free weights and a yoga studio.

The Lake House Amenity and Fitness Center is anticipated to open in late 2018.
