• The International Development Commission, a division of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, has named its new officers for 2002. They are Francis “Len” Loving, chairman; Maurice Pilver, vice chairman; Cheryl Johnson Murray, secretary; and J. David Pesterfield, treasurer.

• Dr. Keith L. Stein has been named senior vice president for medical affairs and clinical effectiveness at Baptist Health.

• The Schultz Center for Teaching & Leadership will have its grand opening/ribbon cutting Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. The new facility is located at 4019 Boulevard Center Dr.

• The Grove House of Jacksonville has opened the Grove Cafe at St. Vincent’s. The cafe offers coffee, juices and snacks for employees and visitors. The cafe also serves as a training and evaluation program for people with developmental and acquired disabilities.

• The Spina Bifida Association of Jacksonville will host its annual Bowl-A-Thon Feb. 23 from 1-4 p.m. at Jax Lanes. The event is sponsored by Coker, Myers, Schickel, Sorenson, Higginbotham & Green, P.A. and Sweet Tomatoes. For information call 390-3686.

• The FCCJ Artist Series presents “Romeo & Juliet,” starring the St. Petersburg State Ice Ballet Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the T-U Center. Tickets range from $18.50-$35.50. For information, call 632-3373.

• Southeast Toyota Distributors signed a new 25-year contract Monday with the Jacksonville Port Authority. The 15-year contract, which includes two, five-year renewal options, will generate $1.5 million for the port. Southeast Toyota Distributors processes new Toyota vehicles for delivery to 163 dealers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North and South Carolina.

• The Springfield Preservation and Restoration board of directors meeting is scheduled for Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.; the Historic Springfield Community Council (HSCC) board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Springfield Women’s Club, and there will be a SPAR Community meeting and spaghetti dinner Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church to elect officers for the coming year. The spaghetti dinner is $3 per person.

• Phyliss Lichter received the KPMG Chairman’s Award for Volunteerism for her work with the I. M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. Lichter organized several programs for employees at KPMG to help donate items to the center.

• The River City Purveyors will hold its weekly meeting today at 11:30 a.m. at the New Orleans Restaurant on Beach Boulevard.
