The anchor grocery store opened in summer 2021.
Publix Super Markets Inc. paid $19.2 million on Feb. 22 to buy the Shoppes at Beachwalk retail center it anchors at 855 County Road 210 W. in St. Johns County.
PEBB Enterprises, a Boca Raton-based real estate investment and development company, bought the 8.85-acre site for $2.75 million in July 2020 from 210 South Development LLC of Boca Raton.
PEBB built the project and opened in 2021. Publix opened there that summer.
The center includes the 48,400-square-foot grocery and Publix Liquor location and 10,500 square feet of inline tenant space that includes Great Clips, Narducci Dental, Urgent Vet and Lavender Day Spa.
CBRE’s Casey Rosen and Dennis Carson brokered the Shoppes at Beachwalk transaction.
“We are proud of our development and leasing teams for their efforts in the successful construction and lease-up of the Shoppes of Beachwalk,” said Ian Weiner, PEBB president and CEO, in a release.
“This is our first ground-up Publix development in many years. Our focus is on the completion and continued leasing of our mixed-use project within Beachwalk.”
PEBB and Falcone Group are developing a 170,000-square-foot mixed-use project on 47 acres within Beachwalk that includes retail, restaurants and a 130-key hotel.
Tenants include Whiskey Joe’s, Fysh Bar & Grill, Noire Nail Bar, F45 Fitness, BurgerFi, Supercuts, Kilwins, Stone Cold Creamery, Fancy Sushi, Keller Williams, Peterbrooke Chocolatier, Merlino Chiropractic and a Union 76 Daybreak Market.
This new development wraps around Beachwalk’s 14-acre Crystal Lagoon.
“Our development leasing momentum is robust,” said Eric Hochman, PEBB Enterprises’ chief investment officer.
