Dear Members:
As we end the third quarter, our reasons to celebrate keep coming. Our NEFBA SMC once again brought home top honors from the Southeast Building Conference in July. The commitment and effort of members and staff liaison Palmer Kuder resulted in another gold trophy for NEFBA as best Sales & Marketing Council in its size category. And in the Individual Achievement category, Rita Williams (Merchandising Plus) won the John P. Hall award, and Cole Slate (Cole Slate LLC) was named Sales Person of the Year.
I also want to recognize Jessie Spradley, NEFBA’s Government Affairs director, for his outstanding effort championing industry goals with the Clay County school board. The chair of Clay County’s Government Affairs subcommittee wrote to commend Jessie for his preparation for the meeting and his persuasive presentation, crediting him with the 4-1 vote in favor of the proposal we were supporting.
We’ve welcomed Bill Garrison as our new executive officer, and I want to thank all the staff and Corey Deal for the smooth transition. Our association is strong, and our executive committee ensures we will continue to grow and excel through changes in personnel, adjustments in the market and the daily changes facing the state’s largest home builders association.
None of this would be possible without our members’ dedication, enthusiasm and expertise. In my opinion, the greatest benefit is becoming a valued member of the NEFBA family.
As we begin the fourth quarter, I want to make you aware of our All-In campaign in support of our new office project. We are embarking on a two-phase fundraising/in-kind donations of materials and/or labor, as we get started with the site work and construction.
A special thanks to our first contributors Josh Garrison with Miranda Contracting, Curtis Hart with Hart Resources and Pete Steinmetz with Turner Pest Control. We invite all our members to be part of this exciting time. (See story on Page 27.)
