Ticon Commercial Inc. is the contractor for the 1,555-square-foot project at a cost of $208,000.
Allstarrz in Arlington: Allstarrz Restaurant & Lounge LLC applied to the city for a waiver of minimum distance requirements for a liquor license location at 1111 Cesery Blvd., the former Famous Amos restaurant in Arlington. The application shows it will do business as Skyline Allstarrz, a full-service restaurant. Plans show a dining area, kitchen, an oyster prep area and oyster cooler, the bar and kitchen equipment. The waiver is to reduce the required minimum distance from a church or school from 500 to 418 feet.
River House Grill at JU: The River House Pub is becoming River House Grill at Jacksonville University at 2800 University Blvd. N. The city is reviewing a permit application for Stellar Group Inc. to upgrade the kitchen to install new equipment to include a countertop griddle and floor fryer at a cost of $110,000. The River House Pub now serves sandwiches, flatbreads and salads as well as nightly entertainment during the semester. The catering kitchen also serves the meeting rooms at the River House. JU spokeswoman Laura Phelps said the River House Grill upgrades will allow for an expanded menu.
