The first residents at the Parks at the Cathedral, a residential community directly behind St. John’s Cathedral at Church and Market streets, have moved in.
John Sabatier, a vice president with Bank of America, said he expects about 10-15 sales in the next few weeks in the first three buildings.
The Parks at the Cathedral joins the growing parade of new downtown housing communities, including Berkman Plaza, 11 E. Forsyth and developer Mike Langton’s loft project on West Adams Street in the W.A. Knight building.
The first Parks phase includes seven buildings, which includes 51 units and feature a central courtyard, clubhouse and swimming pool. Each townhouse has its own lawn and garage.
A park is also being developed at the foot of Market Street.
The units were designed by architects Rink, Reynolds, Diamond, Fisher and DH Griffin is building the community.
The other buildings are progressing as anticipated, said Sabatier.
The second phase, which is expected to be complete by December, consists of 13 units, bringing the total number of townhomes to 64. Those units will be located on the west side of Market Street.
Susan Bancks of Re/Max Coastal Real Estate is listing the property. Prices start at $136,500, depending on location.
