Jeff Zimmerman has been the vice president/sales manager of the Bank of America’s residential lending department since April 1.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
“I manage a team of account executives for Bank of America, which originates loans for a five-county area, including Nassau, St. Johns, Clay, Duval and Baker.”
HOW DID YOU GET INTO LENDING?
“I’ve been in financial services since coming out of college. It was an opportunity to me to get into something that serves the community and that gave me a broad exposure to many different businesses.”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LENDING?
“Working with people.”
BEFORE CURRENT COMPANY?
By mergers and acquisitions, he’s been with Bank of America all along. “I was with Barnett Bank of Atlanta in retail banking as a bank manager. I moved to Florida and worked briefly at Compass Bank before going back to Barnett Bank in Jacksonville where I got into loan origination and worked my way up to sales manager.”
WHERE IS YOUR COMPANY LOCATED?
In the Bank of America office park on Southside Boulevard.
WHERE IS YOUR PARENT COMPANY LOCATED?
Charlotte.
HOW MANY ARE ON YOUR STAFF?
“I have approximately 20 people, including 16 loan officers, three support people and myself. We are in the process of hiring more people.”
WHAT MORTGAGE RANGES DO YOU HAVE, IF ANY?
“We have loans of all sizes and all kinds.”
HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR COMPANY?
“We do a broad range of advertising. The best compliment we can receive is a referral from a past customer. We run advertisements nationally on television and in print media as well. We also sponsor real estate and builder functions and give out marketing materials.”

He has a bachelor’s degree in management from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in marketing from Georgia State.
FAMILY
He has been married to Erika for nine years. They have two children, John, 6, and Anna, 2.
HOBBIES
Spending time with his family. “I enjoy outdoor activities and sporting events.”
RESIDES
Amelia Island.
FAVORITES
His favorite book is the Bible. He doesn’t have a favorite movie but said he enjoys anything with action and adventure. When relaxing at home, he enjoys watching any major sporting event. When looking for a good seafood dinner, it’s The Down Under Restaurant or Golden Grouper. “If it’s anything else it would depend on what kind of mood I’m in.” The Florida Keys is his favorite vacation spot.
