Suitcase causes courthouse evacuation

Hundreds of visitors and employees at the U.S. Courthouse at Jacksonville were evacuated Thursday morning for about two hours after a man described by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson John Turner as homeless left a suspicious looking red suitcase near the loading area of the courthouse. The bomb squad detonated a small charge to disarm any potential explosive device in the suitcase, but only clothes and toiletry items were discovered.
