Gene’s Sandwich Shop on West Adams Street has apparently closed. Customers were greeted with locked doors and signs thanking them for their past patronage. There was no explanation on why the restaurant had closed and attempts to reach the owners were unsuccessful because the phone has been disconnected. Employees at Scottie’s next door said they had not heard why the restaurant was closed.
