• Patricia Jeanne Hill, an attorney with Akerman Senterfitt, will present a seminar on labor and employment law Sept. 30 at the Marriott Southpoint. Hill, who recently joined a select group of Florida lawyers who are board certified, will discuss protected absenteeism, proper documentation and recent trends in immigration and the National Labor Relations Board. • Dave Cook has been named chief financial officer for Coastal Industries, Inc. Cook will be responsible for supervising all corporate accounting functions, banking, annual budgeting and other financial activities.

• The Super Bowl Host Committee has named Jessica Strauss special events/volunteer coordinator, Roderick Crabbe operations coordinator and Amanda Holt communications coordinator.

• George Banks, chief of Jacksonville Economic Development Commission International, has been chosen to be the next chairman of the Florida Council of International Development (FCID). FCID was founded in 1973 by Gov. Reuben Askew and is a statewide organization dedicated to furthering international trade.
