• The North Florida Chapter of the Society of Marketing Professional Services has named its board of directors for 2003-04. They are John Irvin, president; J.D. Loudermill, president-elect; Tanya Fugitt, treasurer; Heather Schneider, secretary; Deno Hicks, education chair; Barbara Trombetta, membership chair; Andrea Schultz, public relations chair; Cantrece Armstrong, program chair; Kimberly Waterhouse, Shelly Bohack, Neil Hancock and Paula Biggs, at-large members; and Marilyn Nehring, immediate past president.

• Catholic Charities is hosting the Black and White Ball, America the Beautiful, Nov. 8 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw will be the honorary chair. For tickets, call 354-4846, Ext. 227.

• Tickets have gone on sale for “Lost in La Mancha,” at The Florida Theatre Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The film stars Terry Gilliam and Johnny Depp. Tickets at $100 each include “VIP seating and gourmet reception.” All proceeds will benefit the Foster Children of Northeast Florida.
