Florida Coastal hosting international summit

Florida Coastal School of Law’s Center for Strategic Governance and International Initiatives will host the Northeast Florida International Summit, titled “Beyond the Super Bowl: Leveraging To Make a Quantum Leap Forward Internationally for Northeast Florida.”

The summit will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 11 in the school’s International Hall, Room 267.

A host of local and statewide officials, business and corporate leaders and interested citizens will discuss Jacksonville’s opportunities to increase international visibility before, during and after the Super Bowl.

Topics will include advances in culture and commerce, small and large business development, developing Jacksonville as an international city and Florida’s Free Trade Agreement of the Americas.

Speakers will include:

• Keynote speaker U.S. Rep. John L. Mica, of the 7th Congressional District.

• Keynote speaker State Rep. Don Davis.

• Keynote speaker Jorge Arrizurieta, president of the Florida Free Trade Agreement of the Americas

• Special guest Mayor Zhao Ming Peng of Jimson, Liaoning Province, China.

• Elaine Brown, City Council president.

• Kelly Given, chair of Global alliances and former West Virginia state representative.

• Michael Kelly, president and CEO of the Super Bowl Host Committee.

• Manny Mencia, senior vice president of International Trade and Business Development, Enterprise Florida.

• Samir Idrissi, CEO, Idrissi Global Solutions.

• Rick Ferrin, executive director of the Jacksonville Port Authority.
