Rosewood Homes President Roger Day officially began a new era in the local company’s 17-year history a little over a year ago with a groundbreaking ceremony at Paradise Moorings, one of Clay County’s newest waterfront communities.

“Building excellence in Paradise Moorings represents all the best possibilities of luxury, comfort and amenities found in a coastal community lifestyle with tranquil evenings on beautiful Doctors Lake while offering a friendly neighborhood atmosphere in a distinctive single family home,” said Day.

Paradise Moorings is on Highway 220 in the growing Fleming Island area, south of Orange Park and three miles west of Highway 17.

Rosewood Homes has introduced floor plans for Paradise Moorings starting in the $300,000 range on over 40 sites.

“Paradise Moorings will offer the warmth of a small, quaint coastal community with the feel of an old fashioned neighborhood. Home owners will be proud to tell others ‘it’s a Rosewood,’” said Day, who began his career in Wisconsin in 1979. “We are very excited to be one of the quality builders in this new, exclusive community.”

The Sanibel, Rosewood’s first home built in Paradise Moorings, won a 2004 Parade of Homes award.

“Paradise Moorings combines exceptional natural surroundings with an equally exceptional, environmentally sensitive land use,” Day said. “The gated community provides amenities not found in other waterside neighborhoods.”

Integral to the community is the public realm of the community deck, deepwater docks and picnic pavilion. The community features “dockiminiums” for boats and vehicles, as a hobby or craft area or even designed for a special TV or game room.

Two man-made lakes are located at the heart of this BestCon-developed community lined with greenway trails.
