Ringin' in the season

The Salvation Army opened its holiday kettle campaign downtown Thursday with the Rotary Club of Jacksonville manning the trademark bells. Rotarian David Foerster was ringing the bell in front of Independent Square. Kettles were also set up in front of the Landing; Hemming Plaza and the Plaza at Berkman. Foerster said the downtown kettles do “very well.” Last year he received a $100 donation.
