• Allison Mall, wife of Jeff Mall, a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual in Riverside, will sing the National Anthem today at Northwestern Mutual’s annual convention in Milwaukee. Allison Mall is a member of Last Words, a contemporary Christian band.
• The next JCCI study will be on the St. Johns River. Committee meetings will begin in October and the committee will meet weekly for six months.
• Mike Mickler and Shawn Reeves were named “Rotarian of the Year” by Jim Culp, outgoing San Jose Rotary Club president. Mickler, a charter member of the San Jose Club, earned the honor through his efforts in coordinating the club’s social events, participation in charitable activities and serving as avenue chairman for club service. Reeves, a first-year Rotarian, earned his honor by chairing the Paul Harris Foundation committee, coordinating efforts to install recreational equipment at Pine Castle and developing the club’s first historical archive.
• The Rotary Club of Bartram Trail has installed new officers. Judy Jennings, president and owner of Realty Executives The Preferred Group, is the club’s first president. Other officers are Brad Kennington, president-elect; John Campbell, vice president; Derek Collum, secretary; Lucinda Gallagher, treasurer; and Tim Irish, sergeant-at-arms. The Bartram Trail Rotary was established in November 2003 and meets every Thursday morning at Julington Creek Plantation’s Club House.
• Firehouse Subs has named Jennifer Cowan director of research and development. Cowan will oversee innovation and new products for all 148 Firehouse Subs locations and the corporate office.
