• The First Coast Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold the final series of public workshops to gather input on which transportation projects should make the final cut and go into the Long Range Transportation Plan. The workshops will be held from Oct. 4-14 at eight locations in the metropolitan area. The ongoing public input and plan update process will conclude with a public hearing scheduled for November to adopt the recommended 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan. • Brunet-García Multicultural Advertising and Public Relations recently received four national awards from Graphic Design:usa Magazine for their work on behalf of the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art (JMOMA) and art consultant Holley Sanford Fine Art. Graphic Design:usa’s 2004 Awards in American Graphic Design for Excellence in Design Communication and Graphic Design were presented to Brunet García for JMOMA’s Black on Black Cinema exhibition poster and two Underground Cinema exhibition posters. Brunet García also received an award for Holley Sanford Fine Art logo and letterhead design.

• Junior Achievement of Florida’s First Coast has received the Bronze Summit Award from Junior Achievement Worldwide. The award recognizes outstanding success in financial health, program quality, management effectiveness and program growth.

• David Knighton has joined Firehouse Subs as the company’s IT manager. He works at its corporate training academy in San Marco and is responsible for the direction and day-to-day maintenance of company technology, including supporting a 50-user network spanning two offices, developing an interactive training system, supporting the register systems in all 159 restaurants and defining company-wide polices for the network.
