The Cathedral School and Early Learning Center opened its doors downtown last week, and though the enrollment remains small, administrators are hopeful that will change soon.
“We’re on a mission right now,” said Head of School Gretchen Vodrey Titshaw. “Now that we’re up and running, we want to focus on growth.”
Titshaw said the school can accommodate up to 210 children between the ages of three months and five years.
“But we’re not as concerned about reaching capacity,” she said. “Ideally we’d like to have an enrollment of just over 100.”
Open all day, the early learning center offers a year-round, “brain based program.”
“In the past, similar programs have been more child-care focused,” said Titshaw. “We concentrate more on educating the children, preparing them early on for elementary school.”
Weekly tuition starts at $140.
