Delaney heads Task Force

John Delaney, president of the University of North Florida, has been appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to be chairman of the newly-created Florida Impact Fee Review Task Force. Developer Cathy Whatley of Buck and Buck Realtors has been named to the Task Force as well.

The Task Force, created during the 2005 Legislative Session, will review and survey the current use of impact fees as a method of financing local infrastructure to accommodate new growth, as well as current case law controlling the use of impact fees.

Also appointed to the Task Force were: Dave Carter, an engineer and a member of the Polk County BA; Al Zichella of Elias Brother Communities and a member of the Collier County BIA; Tom Greer, Osceola County School Board; Polk County School Board member Frank O’Reily; Sarasota County Commissioner Jon Thaxton; Pinellas County Commissioner Rob Stewart; Plant City Mayor Rick Lott; developer Dan DeLisi; Sen. Lee Constantine; Rep. Larry Cretul and Annetta Jenkins, a West Palm Beach senior program director of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
