The Adam’s Mark recently hired four new employees in the sales and catering departments at the hotel.
The sales department has added two from Tallahassee, Jessica Trundley and Lindsay Waldrop.
Two more were hired in the catering department. Heather Phefferkorn came to Jacksonville from Mobile, Ala. and Theresa Harsh from Charlotte.
Trundley was hired to replace a staff member who moved; she’s handling groups of 50 rooms or less on a peak night.
“My job is very exciting, but it’s challenging learning about the hotel and different markets while getting to know Jacksonville,” Trundley said.
Waldrop works in the individual business travel program, replacing an employee who was promoted to group market travel.
Both employees were hired as replacements and started in the middle of January after completing a two-week training program to familiarize them with the different departments in the hotel.
Harsh is a wedding coordinator who coordinates events like weddings, receptions and bridal lunches, as well as coordinating with florists and musicians for the events. She has 21 years experience in the hotel industry and nine years experience in wedding coordination.
Phefferkorn transferred from the Adam’s Mark in Mobile and has been in the hotel business for four years. She works in five markets called “SMERF” for Social, Military, Education, Religious and Fraternal. She does social events such as dances, retirement parties, anniversaries, military events, education events like proms or winter formals, church events and fraternal events with organizations like fraternities or sororities.
She has been in the special events business for 13 years.
“I think both Heather and Theresa are very busy and doing very well getting the Adam’s Mark name in the community,” said Dan Dablow, director of catering for the Adam’s Mark.
