When most people are interviewed for one of our workspaces profiles, they struggle to find enough memorable pieces to show off. Suzanne Jenkins struggles to narrow her search to only five.
One of the City Council’s most outspoken, if not feisty, members, Jenkins can be credited with having helped downtown and other parts of her district get the assistance and capital improvements they need.
“I love Jacksonville,” Jenkins said. “I grew up here and it’s important to me that we work to make it a better place. That’s why I’m here.”
Jenkins’ office is situated at the end of a long hallway on City Hall’s fourth floor. It’s not huge, but Jenkins has made adequate use of her space, filling nearly every inch with photographs, awards and certificates.
“I think I’ve done a lot of good for the community and I’m only getting started,” she said. “It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been exciting.”
