Book rally raises money for charity

Bank of America contributed $50,000 to Mayor John Peyton’s Book Rally Thursday afternoon during a press conference at the Salvation Army’s downtown headquarters. Bank president Jim Gallagher (right) and vice president Martha Barrett (center) were on hand to present the check, just after Mayor’s office staffers including Pete Jackson read to the children at the non-profit center.
