The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors recently bought, assembled and donated two top-of-the-line compound miter table saws to the Housing Partnership of Northeast.

Since last summer, NEFAR volunteers have partnered with The Housing Partnership in “Realtors Ramp It Up!”, a community affairs project whereby NEFAR members build wheelchair ramps for homebound area citizens.

After taking part in several builds where he used laborious and time-consuming circular saws, 2004 NEFAR President Andre Boutte found that the builds could be expedited with better tools.

“Our Make A Difference Day ramp build and house painting project made a difference in more ways than one,” he said. “When our NEFAR group joined another set of volunteers at a second house and they had a compound miter saw, I saw how they were able to cut multiple boards at a time with great ease. It made sense for us to take our commitment a step further and donate the needed equipment - it helps both us and The Housing Partnership.”
