If decorating one office is difficult, try decorating two. That’s exactly what many City Council members have to go through, including this week’s Workspaces subject, Art Shad. A planner with UBS Financial Services by day, Shad works in Independent Square on the 30th floor, just a few blocks down Laura Street from his office at City Hall.

“I don’t know what to say about the look of either of my offices,” Shad said of his dual digs. “But, if anything, I guess I would say that it’s important to be comfortable when I work. Obviously, you want an office to have a utilitarian feel but, just with my day job I work 10- and 12-hour days. So if I can add a little greenery in here, some color, it makes it that much more inviting.”

He took Daily Record staff writer J. Brooks Terry on a tour last week.
