• It will be a little longer before former Sheriff Nat Glover learns the outcome of last month’s administrative hearing over his retirement pay. He contends he should have started receiving retirement benefits July 1, 2003, the first day he was no longer sheriff. The Florida Retirement System counters that Glover didn’t apply for the benefits until several months later. Administrative Judge Bob Cohen said both sides asked for 40 more days (originally, they were to be given 20) to prepare their responses and he’ll take another week or so to decide. Glover should know something in early June.

• Busy morning Monday on Forsyth Street. The Florida Theatre was hosting hundreds of kids, a garbage truck and a car collided across from 11 E. and four police officers (two on horses) dealt with a homeless man at the JTA stop across from the Marble Bank.

• A very large non-profit group is considering Jacksonville for their 2013 annual convention. The National Association of Free Will Baptists will be in town for a reception Tuesday to get a better look at our facilities and, if they select Jacksonville, they’re expected to bring in about 3,500 attendees and for the convention and book about 5,000 hotel rooms.

• Clarification to a recent City Note: An upcoming tour has been planned for the new Main Library but the May 25 walk through is not open to the public. It’s reserved for sponsors of the annual Much Ado About Books literary festival.
