Local homebuilder Richmond American Homes recently made a donation to the American Heart Association in support of the organization’s 13th Annual First Coast Heart Walk. With their $20,000 commitment, Richmond American Homes is the Gold Sponsor of the event.

Richmond American Homes has been a sponsor of the Heart Walk event since 2002. The three-mile walk weaves through downtown Jacksonville, and includes a one-mile walk for survivors of heart disease and stroke.

The 13th Annual First Coast Heart Walk will be held September 10 and the goal of this year’s event is to raise more than $1.2 million.

Doug Moran, division president of Richmond American Homes and a member of the AHA executive committee, hosted a breakfast at the company’s Waterleaf community in Arlington, where he spoke to a group of local businesspeople about the importance of supporting the AHA.

Moran stated, “Richmond American Homes is committed to supporting charitable causes in the communities where we build, and we have long admired the important work that the AHA does to help prevent heart disease and stroke.”
