The law firm of Rogers Towers provided a very special holiday gift to the area’s abused, abandoned or neglected children during the holidays when the firm made a $10,000 gift to daniel. The funds will help the agency make the holidays and the new year brighter for hundreds of deserving kids.
“Rogers Towers is pleased to present this gift to daniel, an agency that for more than a century has provided programs and services that help with the physical and emotional needs for area children and their families,” said Doug Ward, managing director of Rogers Towers. “We feel that an investment in our children is an investment in our future.”
The law firm’s gift is specifically earmarked for daniel’s Community Based Care (“CBC”) program. The gift will be eligible for state matching funds, bringing the total gift amount to $15,000.
Established in 1884, daniel (www.danielkids.org) has spent more than 100 years meeting the physical and emotional needs of children. It is considered Florida’s oldest child-serving agency. Originally founded as an orphanage, daniel has evolved into a multi-service agency that assists troubled youth and their families with a variety of innovative and nationally recognized programs.
daniel’s CBC program provides foster care/adoption services to children who have been removed from their home because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. The program provides supervision and support services to children and their families by providing in home supervision or placing children outside of the home until family problems are resolved or children have been placed in permanent placements (long-term foster or relative care, group home, independent living or adoption).
The CBC program serves children from birth to 18 years of age. Upon the privatization of the foster care system, daniel’s CBC program opened July 1, 2003. Currently, daniel has 43 children eligible for adoption and 650 children are currently in the CBC program. Since the program’s inception in 2003, daniel has finalized 75 adoptions of kids who were in foster care.
Established in 1905, Rogers Towers is Northeast Florida’s largest law firm with more than 90 attorneys.
