The 2005 Gala on the Green, the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s annual charity fundraiser, has awarded checks to three local charities.
Arnold Tritt Scholarship Fund: $19,580.
The Arnold Tritt Scholarship was established in 2004 to assist students in the building construction management program at the University of North Florida who demonstrate a financial need. To date the scholarship has awarded a total of $26,000 to deserving students. Awards are made at the annual Northeast Florida Builders Association installation of officers and at the UNF Hard Hat Banquet. Monique Burr Foundation: $15,445.
The Monique Burr Foundation for Children was founded by LandMar Group CEO and President Ed Burr in memory of his late wife. The foundation is committed to the protection and aid of abused and neglected children in Northeast Florida. The foundation works in partnership with the Children’s Crisis Center and other agencies to fund new and existing programs for disadvantaged children. NEFBA Builders Care: $15,445.
Builders Care is a community-outreach program of the Northeast Florida Builders Association. NEFBA Builders Care provides home construction services and materials to Jacksonville’s elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners whose homes require repairs to make them safe for habitation. Funded in part by the Jacksonville Housing Commission, Builders Care relies heavily on volunteer labor and donations to bring hope and restore dignity to those who otherwise could not maintain their homes.
