• Here’s a good offer. Mayor John Peyton has been invited by Jacksonville U. Pres. Kerry Romesburg to sit in the JU box for the evening session of the March 16 NCAA basketball tournament games at the Arena. JU is the official host school of the first-round games.

• FM 95.1 and the Women’s Center of Memorial Hospital will host the fourth annual Jacksonville Baby Shower March 19 at the Jacksonville Marriott from noon-5 p.m. It’s an expo for expectant mothers, couples and new families to see, buy and learn about all the products and services for babies.

• Speaking of leaving, Lori Sanders is leaving the office of Legislative Services. Her husband got a job in Omaha, Neb. and her last day is next Friday.

• Caraway Grammel & Associates has announced the appointment of Valerie Nall as the director of media and client services. CG&A specializes in advertising, marketing, brand development, media planning, and web development, and is based in Jacksonville Beach.

• Marci Shimoff, author of “Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul” will be in town May 4 for the Executive Women International Advancing Women Breakfast at the Hyatt. EWI is a national organization with a Jacksonville chapter that meets monthly. The breakfast costs $59 and registration begins at 7 a.m.

• The National Association of Industrial & Office Properties, Northeast Florida chapter’s luncheon meeting will be March 15 at the Marriott at Southpoint. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. The guest speaker is Mike Saylor, director of the City’s planning and development department.

• Chocolate and wine lovers rejoice. Morton’s the Steakhouse is hosting an evening of guilty pleasures and wine tasting. It’s March 10, gets underway at 6 p.m. and costs $40.

• Apologies to attorney Mitch Woodlief. We misspelled his name in a story Monday.

• Judge David Gooding will be hosting another Family Friday this week at the Courthouse beginning at 1 p.m and he’s expecting to legally create 10 new families.

• Moving time for the Jack Del Rios. U-Haul trucks are moving the Jaguars’ coach and family from their waterfront Ortega home to their new digs in Glen Kernan.

• The daniel home has a new director of major gifts — he’s Jimmy Kelly, who once was a downtown stockbroker.
