• Harmony Homes will change its name to Drees Homes effective June 1. Drees purchased Harmony almost a year ago. The original founders of Harmony — David and Melody Shacter — continue to be part of the company. David is the company’s land acquisition president and Melody is division president.
• Jacksonville University will provide dorm rooms and free meals to local high schoolers in their Upward Bound program this summer. The Upward Bound program provides academic and study skills training to low-income students whose families have no college experience. The program runs year-round on Saturdays, but the summer program lets participants live on campus for six weeks. The teenagers will arrive June 11 and leave July 22, when JU hosts the Upward Bound Olympics. The event will draw 13 Upward Bound programs from around the state for academic and athletic events, from art competitions to soccer matches.
• Speaking of JU, a performance and art exhibit showcasing work from Florida Governor’s Program students will be shown June 9 at 7 p.m. in the Terry Concert Hall auditorium. The theme is “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” revisited in art, music and dance.
