The Duval Legislative Delegation elected Rep. Stan Jordan as their Chairman for the 2006-07 year. One of Jordan’s first orders of business is to make the various committee assignments for the year.

“I am grateful for the confidence my fellow delegates have placed in me by electing me as Chair,” said Jordan of his nomination and unanimous selection to lead the delegation this year.

Jordan has made the following assignments:

Rules: Rep. Mark Mahon, Chair; Rep. Aaron Bean and Sen. Tony Hill

First Coast Black Business Investment Board: Rep. Audrey Gibson

Jacksonville Economic Development Commission: Rep. Don Davis

Special Liaison to the City Council: Rep. Dick Kravitz

Waterways: Delegation Vice-Chair and Sen. Jim King

Special Liaison to the Education Community: Sen. Stephen Wise

Cultural Council: Rep. Terry Fields

These members will serve as points of contact for the associated policy areas and will assist in disseminating information to their fellow members.

Jordan presided over the delegation’s organizational meeting last Monday and facilitated the timely movement of over 80 speakers in order to assure each person had the opportunity to speak to the delegation.
