Four honored by Florida Council on Economic Education

Bill Foley, CEO of Fidelity National Finance Corporation; Lynn Pappas of Pappas, Metcalf, Jenks & Miller, P.A.; Linda Sherrer, president and CEO of Prudential Network Realty; and Carl Cannon, publisher of the Florida Times Union, were inducted into the Florida Council on Economic Education’s First Coast Business Hall of Fame Thursday at the Hyatt Regency. “The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor outstanding business and civic leaders and to raise funds for economic education,” said Jim De Santis, executive director of the organization. De Santis also announced the creation of The First Coast Free Enterprise Education Fund, an initiative that will provide money-management curricula for K-12 students in North Florida. “School systems are starting to understand that economic education is as important as the three Rs,” he said.
