Realtors, investors and others in the real estate industry enjoyed a sun-setting opening reception of Berkman Plaza 2 Thursday evening. Along with residents from Berkman Plaza 1, more than 250 people from around the state gathered at the Watson Realty sales center to get a view of what Berkman Plaza 2 residents will see.

“There’s not many places where you can wake up and get on your boat,” said Erin Williams, a spokesperson for the project.

Berkman Plaza 2 will be 23 stories with 222 units and is scheduled to be complete by late 2008.

“Downtown is starting to be on the move,” said David Berkman, whom the condos are named after. “It’s a great feeling and we’re proud to be part of it.”

The studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units in the high-rise, riverfront condominium tower will range from the $170,000’s to the $600,000’s. Penthouses will start in the $700,000’s.

Watson Realty Corp. is the exclusive sales agent for the property and has already contracted sales in excess of $6 million for the new phase.
