Florida Bar Board elections, runoff

Two 19th Circuit attorneys will face each other this month in a runoff for a Bar Board of Governors seat, while two other board contests were decided in March balloting.

The voting also decided one Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors race.

Richard H. Levenstein and John M. Stewart will face each other on the April runoff ballot for Seat 1 in the 19th Circuit. Stewart received 228 votes and Levenstein 208 in the three-way race. They were followed by Gean Cary Junginger with 42 votes.

Ballots for the runoff will be mailed to lawyers in the 19th Circuit around April 1. They must be returned to the Bar’s election company by midnight April 23. Eligible voters also have the option of voting online, following instructions in the ballot mailing.

In other races, Jennifer R. Coberly won re-election to Seat 4 in the 11th Circuit, garnering 1,325 votes to 331 for Lawrence F. Kaine.

In the Out of State, Seat 3 race, Eric L. Meeks of Cincinnati defeated W. Bard Brockman of Atlanta 816 to 679.

In the YLD’s Ninth Circuit, Seat 3, race, Chelsea Joy Roberts defeated Vivionne N. Terrell 130 to 64.

All the election winners, along with board members elected without opposition, will be sworn in June 29 at the General Assembly during the Bar’s Annual Convention.
