• Just not into theater much these days? You might want to check out Theatre Jacksonville’s “Enchanted April”, a play by Matthew Barber better known by some as “The kind of play that reminds you of why you love theater.” The show is based on a novel by Elizabeth Von Arnim and chronicles the adventures of two women who leave their neglectful husbands behind to rent an Italian villa for an April of enchantment. The show opens April 20 at Theatre Jacksonville’s Harold K. Smith Playhouse and runs through May 5. For more information and a complete show times, call 396-4425.

• The next Idea Information Security Summit will be held today at Independent Square from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the second-floor auditorium followed by a Networking Reception from 4-6 p.m at the River Club. The summit aims to share the trends and opportunities in the information security space to the Jacksonville market and surrounding regional markets. Technical minds and business-decision makers, as well as the private and public sector audiences are all encouraged to attend. Admission is free.

• April 21 is a big day for the Museum of Science and History. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. they are celebrating “International Astronomy Day” at the museum and “Hooray for Planet Earth” at the Landing. If you’re interested in a cosmic observation the museum will be offering solar observations with the museum’s telescope and tour of the solar system and night sky. The event at the Landing is a part of Jacksonville’s Earth Day celebration. For more information on both events call 396-7062.

• The Fraternal Order of Police is going with Paul Daragjati as its in-house counsel. For the past 15 years, the FOP has employed the services of Tad Delegal. FOP President Nelson Cuba said Daragjati will work exclusively on cases affecting FOP members. Daragjati is a former member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office.

• Mayor John Peyton has gotten plenty of notes recently congratulating him on his re-election, but the most interesting may have been the one from Hiroshi Yamaguchi, the Consul General of Japan whose office is in Miami.

• The Jacksonville Suns have produced their wallet calendars for the 2007 season and instead of a “prices” heading, the Suns have listed “daily sunbathing license” prices. On the cover of the schedule is shortstop Chin-Lung Hu. The Suns open the season Thursday at home against the Tennessee Smokies.

• The Jax Irish Fest is set for April 28 at the Fairgrounds. There will be traditional Celtic music, food and whiskey tasting.
