The First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FCHCC), in partnership with the Jacksonville District Office of the Small Business Administration (SBA), will offer its second in a series of business workshops, delivered entirely in Spanish. The workshop, “How to Manage Your Own Business” (Cómo Comenzar Su Proprio Negocio) will be held April 25 at the SBA office, 7825 Baymeadows Way, 2nd floor, Conference Room A.

“Although our members know that speaking English helps us achieve more success in the United States, we learn better about complex subjects, like finances, when they are taught in our native language,” said Maylene Moneypenny, FCHCC board member. “Responding to the requests of many of our entrepreneurial members or those who are planning to start their own business, we decided to facilitate this series with the SBA.”

The first event in the series, “Programs and Services” (Programas y Servicios) was Feb. 28 and attracted nearly 30 attendees representing many corporations and organizations throughout the First Coast area. Future workshops will include:

June 27—Your Business Plan (El Plan Comercial)

Aug. 29—Financial Statements for Your Company (Estados Financieros de su Empresa)

Oct. 31—Financing Your Business/Company (Financiamiento Para Su Negocio/Empresa)

January 2008—Contracting with the Federal, State and Local Government (Contratos con el Gobierno Federal, Estatal y Local)
