The Annual Beaches Broadway Bash at Bonefish Grill drew approximately 250 people all with one purpose in mind — raise money for the Beaches Boys & Girls Clubs renovation project. Consider the event a success.

In addition to the money raised during the event, Frank Peake of Sea Star Line presented the club with a check for $10,000. The event itself generated $20,000 and, after City Council member Art Graham said if the fundraiser generated $25,000 he’d match it, another $20,000 in pledges were made.

The event featured cuisine from Bonefish Grill, Roy’s of Jacksonville Beach, Zoe’s Kitchen and Johnny Carino’s Italian Grill. Complimentary martinis were provided by Twisted Martini of Ponte Vedra Beach, while guests enjoyed desserts catered by Kilwin’s. Guests were also treated to a vaudeville-style performance by Bella Voce.

“We were very delighted to support the Beaches Boys & Girls Club and its renovation project,” said Peake. “This agency offers wonderful programs for area children, and we are honored to support their recent renovation projects at the Beaches Club.”

Proceeds from the event will go toward Phase II of the renovation project. After 12 years of operations, the Beaches Boys & Girls Club began a project in 2004 to bring the facility back to the level of safety that is necessary. Money raised from the Beach Bash will help in providing a state-of-the- art teen room for members of the Beaches Club.

“We are very thankful to Sea Star Line for helping us in throwing this fun and entertaining social event,” said Debbie Verges, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. “This is a very important step forward in completing the Beaches Boys & Girls Club’s Renovation Project, and we are grateful for the help from Sea Star Line and all our supporters.”

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Sea Star Line, LLC offers cargo transportation services from North America to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
