Duval Legislative Delegation Chair State Rep. Stan Jordan has set Nov. 16 for the Duval County Legislative Delegation organizational meeting and general legislative hearing. The meeting is at 2 p.m. in City Council Chambers. During the meeting, the Delegation will elect a new chairman and vice chairman. Following the election, public testimony on general issues, legislation and appropriations will be heard.
Jordan also said the deadline for filing local bills (J-Bills) in the Duval Legislative Delegation Office is noon, Sept. 13. The Duval Delegation will conduct a public hearing to receive testimony on the proposed local bills Jan. 18, at 2 p.m., in Council Chambers. The members will vote on the proposed local bills at this meeting.
Anyone seeking information on the procedures to file a local bill should contact the Delegation Office by next Friday. Anyone who would like to be placed on the agenda can contact the Delegation office at 630-1680, prior to Nov. 9 for the organizational meeting and general public hearing and prior to Jan. 11 for the local bill public hearing.
