For home developers and builders who gave their time, money and effort to charitable and non-profit organizations over the past year, it was time to give them something back.

The 3rd annual Good Neighbor Awards presented by Jacksonville Homebuyer and the Northeast Florida Builders Association was held Wednesday at the Hyatt to recognize and award 21 builders and developers who made a difference in the Jacksonville community.

Mayor John Peyton was the keynote speaker and he expressed his gratitude and congratulated the recipients.

“We appreciate all you do to make this a better city,” said Peyton. “It’s not bricks and mortar but the people that make a difference.”

Peyton discussed how the building industry and home ownership leads to family and community stabilization and can help create successful childhood.

Proceeds from the event benefited the NEFBA Arnold Tritt Scholarship Fund.
